以太坊新进展 | 以太坊2.0 阶段0 -- 信标链协议规范已出

该文档为以太坊2.0阶段0 (即信标链阶段) 的规范。以太坊2.0的核心是一个称为“信标链”的系统。信标链存储并管理验证者登记表。在以太坊2.0最初部署的几个阶段中，成为验证者的唯一机制就是向当前的以太坊1.0网络中的一个存款合约(deposit contract)中单向地发送一笔交易(32个ETH)。当信标链生成了以太坊1.0存款收据 (deposit receipts) 时，验证者的身份就激活了。至于从以太坊验证者中退出，这要么是用户自愿发起的，要么是用户因为行为不当而被强制退出以示惩罚。信标链的负荷主要来源于对区块的“证明(attestations)”。证明就是对分片区块的可用性投票，同时也是对信标区块的权益证明投票。如果针对同一个分片区块有足够数量的证明，就可以创建一次“交联(crosslink)”，从而对该分片区块进行确认，直到该分片区块进入到信标链中。此外，交联也作为异步跨链通信的基础设施。详情请见

Ethereum 2.0 Phase 0 -- The Beacon Chain

This document represents the specification for Phase 0 of Ethereum 2.0 -- The Beacon Chain. At the core of Ethereum 2.0 is a system chain called the "beacon chain". The beacon chain stores and manages the registry of validators. In the initial deployment phases of Ethereum 2.0 the only mechanism to become a validator is to make a one-way ETH transaction to a deposit contract on Ethereum 1.0. Activation as a validator happens when Ethereum 1.0 deposit receipts are processed by the beacon chain, the activation balance is reached, and after a queuing process. Exit is either voluntary or done forcibly as a penalty for misbehavior. The primary source of load on the beacon chain is "attestations". Attestations are availability votes for a shard block, and simultaneously proof of stake votes for a beacon block. A sufficient number of attestations for the same shard block create a "crosslink", confirming the shard segment up to that shard block into the beacon chain. Crosslinks also serve as infrastructure for asynchronous cross-shard communication.

ERC-20 Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) Launches on Ethereum Network

The Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) network, a method for representing Bitcoin as an ERC-20 token, recently launched and so far 65 Bitcoin have been ‘wrapped’ onto ERC-20 tokens. Each WBTC token is represented on a 1:1 ratio with the predetermined amount of Bitcoin. Only custody agents (custodian) can mint WBTC coins and merchants will need to undergo KYC and AML before receiving wrapped Bitcoin tokens. Currently, BitGo is the only custodian offering WBTC tokens.

Ethereum's Next Conference will Run Entirely on Blockchain

ETHDenver, the largest Ethereum-based hackathon, is currently preparing for its second annual show in Denver, Colorado and a large portion of the event’s processes and procedures will take place over blockchain. Attendance, judging, voting on projects and other activities will be carried out over blockchain. Applicants can reserve their place by staking a predetermined amount of Ether to fast track the application review process and the funds will be returned to attendees once they check into the event. Attendees will also use a unique localcoin called buffiDai which is the result of a collaboration between MakerDAO, Status, POA Network, Solidcoin, SendWyre, and Quantstamp. BuffiDai will be used for purchasing “food, swag, drinks, activities and non-fungible tokens.” Ultimately, the event is designed to not only showcase upcoming blockchain and dApp products but also demonstrate the various use cases for blockchain technology and cryptocurrency in various real-world situations.

Blockchain Influencer Ian Balina Suggests ICO Stigma Will Take Time to Lift

Blockchain investor and evangelist Ian Balina was among the presenters at the World Economic Forum 2019 in Davos, Switzerland. Balina addressed ICOs, saying that many people are steering clear of them. According to a tweet that Balina himself retweeted: “They almost think of [ICO] as a bad word. So much money has been lost, the psychological damage will take time to heal.” Security token offerings and equity are expected to take bridge the gap left by ICOs, at least for now. Separately, the BitTorrent ICO suggests that ICOs are not dead after raising more than $7 million in a matter of minutes.
